Association histoire et patrimoine du haut-cailly

Founded in 2014, the Haut-Cailly History and Heritage Association has set itself the following objectives:

- to promote historical and heritage research,

- to contribute to the protection and promotion of tangible and intangible heritage,

- to promote the memory of the inhabitants,

for the Haut-Cailly area (former canton of Clères).

The Parcours Numériques Histoire et Patrimoine® (managed by the association) offer a stroll to discover the history of a village or a place.

Nearly 250 panels, placed here and there, allow you to learn more about these places of interest thanks to a QR code.

Where do these trails start? At the town hall for the municipalities.

The first complete trails cover the municipalities of Cailly, Clères, Esteville, Fontaine-le-Bourg, La-Rue-Saint-Pierre, Les Authieux-Ratiéville, Saint-André-sur-Cailly, Saint-Germain-sous-Cailly, Yquebeuf and the Charles Nicolle site at the Rouen University Hospital.

Others are in preparation and will be launched in the coming months.

The Haut-Cailly History and Heritage Association also published the book ‘History of Cailly, The Mills, The Bridge, The Dairy’ in 2024 and published the book ‘History of Cailly, Saint Martin's Church’ at the end of 2025.

This book highlights the history of this 12th-century building, a true witness to our village's past, and draws attention to the urgent need for restoration work to preserve this exceptional heritage.

The book consists of 256 colour pages, illustrated with numerous photos and documents.
