La Chapelle Saint-Laurian
This loop will make you discover Saint-Denis-le-Thiboult, charming village on the Crevon. You can couple it with the loop n°2 "In the country of Emma Bovary".
This walk is adapted to all the family: from the forest to the plain with animals to discover as well as the village of Saint-Denis-le-Thiboult and all its patrimonial wealth.
To see during the walk
Church of the XIth and XIIIth centuries. Interesting statues, several of which are classified as historical monuments. Baptismal font of the XIth century.
Chapel of St Laurian (private) : funeral chapel in pink brick built around 1810 in the 18th century style. Dome and slate spire. Classified as a historical monument in 1992.
Mill (private) : beautiful building of the XVIIIth century harmoniously reworked in 1811. The paddle wheel was removed around 1920. It then became a factory of ice loaves and a sawmill (no longer in activity today).
Feudal mound: vestiges dominating the place of the village.
Remains of an enclosure wall visible near the church. Henri I, Duke of Normandy, died there in 1135.
