350 Hikers Celebrate the Departmental Hiking Day in Normandie Caux Vexin

Sunday, June 22, 2025 — Montigny pulsed to the rhythm of 350 hikers who came to celebrate the Departmental Day of Hiking. From the early hours of the morning, the trails came alive with the enthusiasm of the participants, who, backpacks snugly strapped, walking sticks in hand and smiles on their faces, set off to explore the lush landscapes of the Normandie Caux Vexin region.

Between deep breaths of fresh air and a few well-deserved breaks to enjoy their picnic, many stopped by the Tourist Office stand — a real meeting point and hub for sharing. There, hikers gathered valuable ideas for family outings, discovered new local attractions, and exchanged favorite hidden gems to explore, especially with young children.

It must be said: Normandie Caux Vexin is a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts! Whether you're into fast hiking, a fan of Nordic walking, prefer gentle strolls, or enjoy walking with dynamic poles, there's something for everyone — from rolling countryside and picturesque villages to shaded forests.

Many participants discovered our "Land of Gardens" and its dedicated guide to our beautiful parks and gardens. Several associations also showed interest in our group travel offers.

The afternoon held a lovely surprise for families with the much-anticipated return of the Family Rally, organized by Département 76 and Inter Caux Vexin. After making a stop in Clères in May, this fun-filled event brought together around twenty families in Montigny. Along a 6-kilometer route, young and old alike became curious explorers, marveling at the richness of the local flora and fauna. Between riddles and a scavenger hunt, children even learned a sweet new word: a baby hedgehog is called a choupisson… Enough to melt hearts, even the most athletic ones!
