Un air de printemps en Normandie autour de Rouen.

Un air de printemps en Normandie autour de Rouen.

  • February 11, 2026

The days are getting longer, the winter holidays mark the transition between February and March, and already our Terre de Jardins is buzzing with activity!

The Parc de Clères is offering a spring workshop on March 11 and, on the eve of reopening, March 13, a nighttime outing dedicated to the amphibians’ mating season. Reopening on March 14.

March 22 will mark the first major event of the season: “La Fête de la Jonquille” (The Daffodil Festival), with the theme “Clères in Paint.”

Program:

Art de Vivre

Gastronomy, art, and special moments are on the agenda in March.

At the Brasserie du Parc in Clères, a true land-and-sea brunch will be served at noon on Sunday, March 1.

In Quincampoix on March 6, Au Goût du Vrai invites you to an evening of food and wine pairings, while in La Vaupalière, on March 6 and again on March 20, you’ll be challenged to guess what’s on your plate during the famous “Dining in the Dark” evenings.

Another unmissable event: a sculpting workshop at the Sculpture Garden, over one or two days, inviting you to observe, create, and reconnect with traditional craftsmanship. A walk through the garden will be an opportunity to admire life resuming its cycle at the end of winter. (On-site accommodation available.)

Bridgerton Vibes

(or Jane Austen, Downton Abbey, The Remains of the Day, the Brontë sisters…)

Do you have a soft spot for small countryside castles steeped in romance?

Have you already visited these two sites just a few kilometers apart? The Château de Martainville, with its collections of linens, costumes, instruments, and period furniture, as well as activities for all ages, concerts, and lectures, seems to echo the Château d’Ernemont-sur-Buchy, which is also open to visitors and offers outstanding guest rooms.

On March 29, the latter will host a reading of Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly, a 19th-century author, adapted by Odile Ehret (the hostess of the estate) and performed by actor and director François Marthouret: Happiness in Crime.

“When happiness is continuous, it is already a surprise; but happiness in crime—that is sheer astonishment.”

Fencing partners, Count de Savigny and the mysterious Hauteclaire Stassin fall deeply in love. When the Count’s social status forces him to marry another woman, they decide to eliminate the inconvenient rival. But can the two lovers truly live happily in crime?
Widely criticized upon publication, the most scandalous short story in the collection Les Diaboliques is a true cynical gem that elevates vice over virtue.
