Family holidays in winter -in Normandy for sure

Take part in a decorative object workshop for Boui-Boui using dried flowers in Clères, painting classes with the artists and craftspeople from Art Loc'halles or Isabelle Beaussant in Buchy, or pastry-making with la Forêt des macarons. 

What if you enjoyed a family creative experience around clay modelling Jardin des sculptures ?In this fabulous garden, you can see the works of artist Jean-Marc de Pas, who works on site, and understand the differences between stone, clay, and bronze sculptures, along with their various creation processes.

The Clères Park and the Château of Martainville compete with ideas to keep children of all ages entertained: :  birdhouse building,  stained-glass creation .The “fête du jeu” rreturns to the château this year over the weekend of February 21st and 22nd.
 

Outdoor activities

Long live outdoor sports—even in winter! :  shetland pony ride   or Icelandic pony for older ones at Bois-Guilbert (France’s first pony club)  or forest rides in the Lyons Forest with the centre de tourisme équestre du Val Saint Pierre. Free golf initiation sessions are offered by the Rouen Golf de Rouen la forêt Verte. Ln March 1st, children’s and adults’ races take place during the trail des Irraiductibles in Clères and there are so many beautiful walks to discover HERE. In Montville, in addition to a walk around the lake, summer is being prepared with swimming lesson. 

Feel like playing farmer? The animals from “Dessine moi un mouton” and the “Petits Pas d'Emma”  are waiting for you for immersive experiences with donkeys, pigs, rabbits, chickens, sheep, goats, and ponies…

How about going fishing? Les étangs de Sommery and la Ferme de Bray, offer the perfect setting for a family day out. Snack bar on site.

Raining? In addition to the exhibitions at the Château of Martainville, the musée des Sapeurs Pompiers de Montville (Firefighters museum) is unique in France, with its collection of vintage vehicles and uniforms. This visit will make you an expert on this remarkable profession. The Anatole Jakovsky collection—combining naïve art, old comic strips, and quirky objects—opens its doors every Thursday afternoon at the la Sirène museum in Blainville Crevon. Passionate about vintage and pop culture past and present? ABV brocante, is the place that will impress even your teenagers (beware of temptation—it’s a museum where everything is for sale…).
