The Château de Vascoeuil
The Château de Vascoeuil, listed a Historic Monument and an Art and History Centre, has welcomed more than a hundred internationally renowned artists since 1970 (Braque, Buffet, Cocteau, Combas, Corneille, Dali, Vasarely and many more). Its remarkable permanent outdoor sculpture collection gathers more than 50 bronze statues, marble statues, mosaics, etc. made by famous modern artists from the 20th and 21st centuries. The park contains an outstanding 17th century dovecote still comprising its revolving ladder.
Complete your visit with the museum dedicated to the French historian Jules Michelet (1798-1874), which is located in an 18th century outbuilding and gathers many items and artefacts that belonged to him. His study has been precisely recreated at the top of the chateau's octagon-shaped tower.
